Murano and Burano, Italy

We had a free day during our stay in Venice, so we decided that we'd explore the islands of Murano and Burano. The water taxi was a fun experience and we had an enjoyable day discovering what the islands had to offer. Murano is best known for its beautiful hand blown glass and Burano, for its lace. Before we reached these islands we chose to stop at Venice's cemetery, below are two pictures we took from the water taxi, pictures were forbidden in the cemetery.Murano, ItalyWe were able to watch a glass blowing demonstration here, as well as, in Venice.Burano, ItalyBurano is quite a colorful little place and very quaint.
Jonathan's aunt joined us from Spain, we had a nice time with her as well as Jonathan and Amy.

Burano had a lot of cats, they kept coming out of this gate, but none of them would let us get close enough to pet them.
