Meet Maverick "Poet" Victor

Maverick came to us through some unique circumstances. He followed some students to Joy's school one morning, without a collar or I.D. With some help from some students the owners were found and informed that their puppy was at the school and needed to be picked up. To make a long story short, no one came or called. At the end of the weekend we went and picked up Maverick, who was staying with a fellow teacher. About four days later, the owners decided to call back, saying they wanted their dog. Needless to say, we were very upset. With a lot of phone calls back and forth, we offered the owners some money to keep Maverick and they accepted. So now Maverick "Poet" (named after Paul Lawrence Dunbar Middle School's mascot) is officially ours to keep. Who knows what he's mixed with we've just concluded he's a mutt, but a very special mutt.
