Before the arrival of baby Victor we wanted to take a final get-away trip to D.C. together. We were able to see the Ford's Theatre Museum, the Crime and Punishment Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the National Tree at the Capitol building. We also did some driving into Old Towne Alexandria and into D.C. at night to see some Christmas lights. We got lost a few times and were repeatedly honked at, but it was worth it. We also were able to drive past the White House and got to catch a glimpse of the Washington Memorial and Lincoln Memorial. Overall, it was a great weekend, even when we were woken up at 2:00 a.m. and had to exit our hotel, due to a "fire emergency".
Our change we've been collecting and saving for the past year for something special. We were able to use it on the trip. The total came to $110.35, it pays to keep those pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters.
Ford's Theatre

The balcony where President Lincoln was shot.

As we were leaving the theatre a bum came up to us asking for money and then said, "That's a girl in there, gotta be a girl," and then walked away. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

We had an amazing lunch at Carmine's.

The Crime and Punishment Museum

Bonnie and Clyde's actual car with the deadly bullet holes.

We were able to see the set where the T.V. show "America's Most Wanted" is filmed.

We were also able to participate in a forensics lab and work towards solving a homocide.

Justin's favorite part of the museum was the mobster section.
