Lot 28

We are thanking the Lord for His timing and His ways. As many of you know our home has been on and off the market for about two years. We've been looking for a home with a bit more space. Our current home, which we love, is about 1100 sq. ft. In the fall of 2011, we found a home that we both loved. It was built the same year as our home 2001, had been well maintained, and was in an area/neighborhood that we really liked. We had not yet sold our home, but made an offer on this home with the contingency of our home selling. They counter-offered with us and we chose to walk away and make them another offer once our home sold. We figured their home would continue to be on the market for a few more months since it had only been on the market for a few weeks. A couple weeks later we found out that it was under contract and they had accepted another offer that was only $5,000 more than our original offer. We were pretty discouraged about it, but knew God apparently had another plan for us, the door had been shut. It's hard to believe that though when you can't see what lies ahead. Lately, we have been thanking the Lord for making us wait. This past February, we looked into some new lots that are less than a mile from our current home and are in the very same neighborhood that we live in now. Over the course of a few weeks we talked about a floor plan and some possible changes that we wanted, as well as staying within our budget. In March, we sat down and signed our contract. You may be wondering, "what about the house you're living in now?" We contemplated and prayed about renting it and one day put it on Craigslist. In just a few hours of posting our home for rent we had over ten interested calls. The first people we called back are the ones who will be making our home theirs, starting in August. We have no doubt that they will take great care of our home. They've been married for two years, the husband is a nursing major at L.U. and currently in the ROTC program. They plan to stay here for two years and then will move wherever the military sends them. We are thankful to the Lord for His timing and His blessings. We love our neighborhood and the relationships that we've made with our neighbors. We are thankful that we will still be able to see everyone and maintain those friendships. As for the building of our home, the expected finish date (if all goes well, weather, etc...) is July 20th. Below are some  pictures we've taken of the recent stages of the building process and a bible verse from the book of Matthew. It's a great reminder that though we are having a new home built and we care about its physical foundation, more importantly, we need to be actively seeking God's Word and cultivating His Word in our marriage, family, and home. We would appreciate your prayers in the following areas; that we would seek to glorify the Lord in our lives, we would take time to study His Word, we would fearlessly take opportunities to witness to those who are lost, and that our marriage and home would flourish/grow for Him.

Matthew 7:24-27

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

This is the home that is directly next to our lot on left hand side. Once complete, our home will resemble this one from the outside, but we made some changes on the inside, making it more open.

Our house will be about 80 ft. from the road, in a a cul-de-sac. The lot size is .78 acres and goes on through some of the treeline.

Next week they plan to start the framing process, exciting!
