Salzburg, Austria

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary in Salzburg, Austria. This was one of our favorite places that we visited, probably due to the fact that it was a very quaint town and in a beautiful, rural setting. The people were very friendly and we enjoyed all the historical sightseeing.
This is the fountain and the grounds that were used in the filming of the movie, "The Sound of Music." The "Hohensalzburg Fortress" dates back to Roman times. It has held prisoners from both World War I and World War II. We made sure to stop and buy some gelati.Salzburg is known to be the birthplace of the famous composer, Mozart, below is a picture of his birthplace. The soft pretzels in Europe were outstanding! The views from the castle in Salzburg. Our group, with the city and the Salzach river in the background.
